getting ready for christmas

Today the boys and Marianna and their mommy came over to spend a couple of hours with Mia.  We ate lunch together and then the boys helped set up the nativity scene as Trey quoted the first few verses of the story of Christ’s birth in Luke.  After they were satisfied with the way things looked, we sat and talked about why we need a Savior and how God, in His love for us, sent Jesus to rescue us from sin and death.

Next, we went outside to make crayon rubbings of tree bark and other textures we found around the yard.  Miss M decided she didn’t like having a bow in her hair  and tried to pull it out.  When her mommy said “no” she really didn’t like it…but within moments she was happy again.

It was a fun afternoon….but all fun times must come to an end…when nap time comes around.  So they climbed into the car and waved goodbye and drove away.  Sigh…I love our play times.
