Of all the blessings that I count
as expressions of God’s love to me
my mother
is one at the top of the list.
I have had the privilege
of watching her life being
poured out before the Lord:
serving others
waiting and watching
refraining from gossip
choosing not to enable
surrendering expectations
faithfully praying
silently suffering
resting in Him
opening her home to others
faithfully and joyfully serving my dad
quietly listening
always seeking to love the Lord
with all her heart
all her soul
all her mind
all her strength.
