isn’t she lovely…

…isn’t she beautiful….I always loved that first line of the song by Stevie Wonder…and it’s so true [inside and out] of Roz, my pastor’s wife.  She wanted a few pics for brochures, postcards, and her guest speaker profile.  I love the color she chose….makes my job easy!

Brenton…who’s hair grows faster than any weed I’ve ever seen….got a new haircut.  He looks even older than he did the first time.  It’s funny how small things like that seem to change things.  He even seems to act older. The stickers on his outfit are compliments of PaPa who dug them out of his top desk drawer.  Brenton loved them, so after he left I peeled them off  the other places he stuck them to recycle them for next time :)

thursday’s at mia’s

yep….it was only a matter of time….the boys have discovered and shown an interest in the football.  We had a fun packed day yesterday.  First, we met an old friend who is in town and her grandson and headed to the local pool around the corner, where we played in the kiddie area of the pool.  It is equipped with slides, water spouts, water guns, and a tire swing, all in about a foot or so of water.  PERFECT.  The best part is….it’s FREE.  I think we will be going back there.  Unfortunately, I forgot to bring my camera, but with all the water and splashing, it’s probably just as well.

After lunch it was outside play with the football and Aunt Leah’s leprechaun hat[thanks Aunt Leah]….hmmmmmmm perfect pic for Notre Dame marketing, maybe?

thursday’s at mia’s

When PaPa drove in from work, the boys were as excited as usual to see him.  After visiting a while he took their mommy’s car, with them in it, and disappeared.  They were going to the grocery store to get dessert for our dinner…..cupcakes!  I wondered what was taking them so long, when I found out they were taking a side trip to the dollar store.  It reminded me of the times my parents would come to visit and pick the girls up and take them to McCrory’s….one of the last of the old fashioned dime stores….where they would each pick out something to buy.

They came home with these fun water pumps and squirt guns.  Brenton kept squirting his using his thumb instead of his trigger finger.  He squirted it sideways…it was too funny.  But Trey knew just what to do with all the toys.  It just so happened that their Mommy brought swimsuits, so after dinner we hooked the sprinkler up, filled a 5 gallon bucket  with water…………and had a water extravaganza in the front yard.  Trey kept losing his drawers…..as you can see in the pictures.  But they enjoyed it so much.  And it was lots of fun watching them!

watching

The boys are over today. Mommy’s not feeling well, so I went and picked them up just before lunch.  I think they have enjoyed watching the painter paint our roof….Trey’s been pretty fascinated with it, but doesn’t want to get too close….is content watching from inside :)

great family

Thanks to Sarah who asked me to help her shoot this wonderful family.  They were so fun to watch interact with one another. And I was blessed to hear not one word of complaining from ANYONE….including children or dad :)   although it was a scorching evening!
I still have some tweaking to do, but here are a few first edits.

fun days

I’ve been at Jenna’s everyday this week helping her organize her new home….it’s been so much fun watching everything fall into place.  I tell you, the light in her home is gorgeous…it just doesn’t get much better!  I could shoot there all day :)   Today we worked in her bedroom.  The pics start with Karis and her mom coming over to pick up some moving boxes, then Brenton receiving his pool toy birthday gifts from Uncle Joel and Aunt Kate, and Trey being PaPa’s helper.

almost one year ago….

You were right, Jenna, this was just 1 year ago….it now seems so long ago…..but this was taken July 4, 2009!

Happy Birthday and Father’s Day to my father-in-law.  Birthday wishes that he will realize just how much he is loved :)
He looks pretty good for being 83, huh?

becoming 2

New pictures are being added daily :)

We celebrated Mr B’s birthday today when his family came over to share cupcakes and watch him open his gifts.  He got a remote control car, a truck that makes lots of n.o.i.s.e  [ I had forgotten how noisy toys can be  ]  and some pretty balls…..we each had a cupcake, and a scoop of ice cream after we sang Happy Birthday and watched him blow out the candles [ at least 4 times....he kept blowing them out before his mom had both lit ], watched him do the Hokie Pokie with PaPa and his mommy, and then played for about 45 minutes….when he promptly packed up his toys and left to get a nap!

I might add a few more here later….it’s been a full day.

karis is back

I love her curls…I love her name….I love her blue eyes….I love her personality.  She’s a busy little miss, so these pics were taken on the fly, but isn’t she as beautiful as ever?

Karis is back, and she’s all grown up….well, she’s 18 months and trying to talk.

Her mommy and a friend came over today to talk shop.  Visit Sarah’s Facebook page to get a peek at what she’s been up to.  She has a great eye for composition, doesn’t she?

sweet

When Melissa asked me to take pics of her daughter’s Sweet 16 birthday party on Saturday, I was both nervous and excited.  Unfortunately, just as the party was starting, it poured buckets of rain.  Being that it was an outdoor venue…and being that I’m a natural light photographer…….it was disappointing in that I never got to take any pictures of the real party.  Due to the rain delay, darkness descended before the party started.  What you see here is snippets of beautifully dressed girls and hansomely dressed guys milling around waiting for the party to start.  It’s not my best work, because it was dark and rainy and good light was hard to come by…….I just wish I could have captured more of the beauty here!  But isn’t Cristina adorable?
