It has been a very long time since I’ve posted a Thursday’s at Mia’s post! With school taking up a good part of the day, there aren’t many weekdays for playing at Mia’s, so today when Jenna texted and said she and the kids were driving through PDQ and coming for a visit, I was thrilled. These little guys and gals are growing up so quickly…I don’t miss any chance I get to see them. And of course, I want to capture some memories along the way. My only regret is that Mr. T was inside in time out…maybe next time….
I always love this family’s photos, and I love shooting at Riverfront! What a delightful combination! We go way back to when it was just Matt and Erika, and then Matt and Erika and a little boy, and now it’s Matt, Erika, the little boy, and lil sis! Are they just the cutest little family?
The joy of playing with cousins….is there anything better? Snapped some pics of some of the girl cousins during a recent family get-together…aren’t they adorable? The lens managed to find cousin Mason too.
John and I were blessed to spend Easter weekend at the lake home of one of the couples in the community group we attend. What a delightful home and a great time relaxing around the yard and lake! Fishing, paddle-boarding, zip line, corn hole and a big big big hammock! The town of DeLand is quite charming too…and sunrise Easter service around the lake at Mr. Crump’s lakeside farm (where I picked lettuce for my salad the day before) was quite lovely too!
Dollar Tree glasses + ball = spring time fun
I had a fun surprise today when the kiddos stopped by for a visit. They had a lot of fun running outdoor in the cool Florida winter finding treasures that only little people are prone to find because they take time to consider the things that we adults often overlook. I always learn so much from these little people :)
How we enjoyed Colin when he and his mommy came for a visit! He’s the most pleasant little fellow. Aunt Leah loved holding him and talking to him.
Colin met his great grandpa for the first time Sunday. I loved watching the interaction between the 3 generations pictured…but I was mostly reminded of the joy that small things…and little people…bring to those who are older. As we grow in years, we seem to realize more and more the value of relationship and small things we can do to encourage others.
I have so enjoyed this Christmas season….the quietest and most relaxing yet…as I have not had the usual distractions of a commercialized celebration. I have spent mornings in Luke enjoying new revelation of Who God is —Who He longs to be to us and for us and in us.
Each day has held it’s own lovely gift —a phone call from an encouraging friend…an opportunity to see the Miami City Ballet perform the Nutcracker…sitting down with John to watch a Christmas movie…the arrival of a big box filled with vintage cameras that on old college friend came across and, knowing my love of photography, took the time to package and pass along to me.
Today’s delight included a visit from Misses M & G and Mommy. We made sugar cookies and enjoyed using our Cup of Christmas Tea set to sip hot chocolate. It is the first time I have baked with Miss M, and what fun it was to watch her discover the joy of baking with dough and cookie cutters!
I hope you too have been enjoying these special days…and that you have had the opportunity to slow your pace and reflect on all the wonderful gifts God gives to you every single day!
November was a busy month…3 birthday celebrations, a short but sweet trip to Katy’s, a visit to share pre Thanksgiving dinner with John’s dad, Thanksgiving day celebration at our house…I almost forgot to post these pics of Leah opening her birthday cards and gifts…loved the travel journal idea from Uncle Mike & Aunt Becky!
I’ve been playing around with Totally Rad’s Rad Lab. I have wanted to buy it for a long time…placed it in my shopping cart a couple of times but never clicked the purchase button. They always have an annual Black Friday sale, so I patiently waited to get the discount. My oh my…I think I’m going to really LOVE using Rad Lab once I get to know my way around it!
